Shaping the Surgeons of Tomorrow: Innovations in Simulation Education.    Chair: Professor Barry Quinn

This transformative one-day conference will explore the latest technological breakthroughs in health professional education. Recent advancements in 3-D imaging haptically enabled virtual reality simulation, and artificial intelligence are reshaping how we train and support healthcare professionals, presenting both challenges and exciting opportunities. The event will explore how these innovations can be integrated into educational practices to enhance skills across various health disciplines. Hear from international experts as they share the latest in augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and haptics-enhanced, AI-powered technologies — covering how these innovations are reshaping preclinical and clinical training and how future research can drive their clinical translation for enhanced healthcare outcomes. Participants will gain hands-on experience with VR and haptics-enabled AI tools, enhancing practical knowledge in simulation-based training. Our esteemed speakers will address three interconnected themes, each critical to advancing technology-enabled learning in health education.
